Baby Love with Cosmo and Ling

Thank you Sammy, for hosting this fun squee worthy event!

Cosmo : Whisky and Mommy were walking around the playground behind the house when they heard tiny mews coming from the drain. The both of us were in the drain, tired from the mewing and dehydrated from the heat (we were too small to get out of the drain on our own). Mommy picked us up immediately and brought us home. This is one of the first photos of us (August 2, 2008)
Ling : For some reason, Cosmo found it comforting to sit on the *hot water bottle*.  MOL!
Ling : We were quite terrified of Mommy and Daddy and Whisky at first. We would hiss and hide from them so Mommy decided to just sit in the bathroom (our *room*) and read so we could get used to her. It took several weeks before we could relax in her presence
Cosmo : And then we learned to play  :)
Cosmo : Ling escaped from the room one night and Mommy couldn't find her for hours! So that is why we wear collars with those big noisy bells!
Cosmo : By now, we were allowed to venture out of our room and were quite attached to Mommy and Daddy. We also learned that Whisky was a kind, loving woofie sisfur and we warmed up to her too!
Ling learning all about the World Wide Web
Ling : Did I mention that the reason we were allowed to stay was because of me? I HISSED at Daddy the first time he saw me and he fell in love instantly (he had told Mommy he didn't want cats when she told him about finding us). MOL MOL MOL! I love my Daddy!
Cosmo : I am more of a Mommy's boy and love to make biscuits on her.  :)
 We hope you enjoyed our baby photos! These photos were taken in the first two months of us joining the Whisppy Family.

Happy Gotcha Day to Oui Oui and A Post-A-Thon for PAWS

It is Oui Oui's Gotcha Day today and to celebrate, she has organized a Post-A-Thon that will benefit PAWS for every post up on the Tabby Cat Club. The proceeds from the Post-A-Thon will be used to help jump start the "Habitat for Cats", which is the creation of an attractive, and stimulating free roaming environment for the kitties at PAWS. Isn't that just pawsome?

We're so happy to be able join in the celebrations!

Cosmo : What better way to celebrate than with a cigar?
Ling : I hope the "Habitat for Cats" will include a pawsome toy rack for the kitties to select their favorite toys. We LOVE ours!

What Scares Us, By Cosmo and Ling

Cosmo : Oh Cod. Make them stop screaming!
Ling : Why are they stomping around the place!
Cosmo : Are they gone yet?
Ling : I can still smell them, Mommy. I think I'll stay here a little longer
Cosmo : Why can't they stay at the porch?
So, just what is it that Cosmo and Ling scared off? There's quite a list but here are the main ones.

:: Little children (the pictures were taken when some children came to visit)
:: Ding-Dong The DOORBELL
:: V-E-T visits
:: Car rides
:: Visitors (thankfully, we don't have many visitors)
:: Themselves

Let me elaborate a little on that last point - "themselves"

Cosmo scares easily, sometimes from something as silly as him jumping down and making a slightly different sound when he lands. Then he tries frantically to run from it but in his panic, loses traction (we don't have carpets) and the scratchy sound he makes, causes him to panic even more, which then causes Ling to get all worried who will start running as well. It's really quite a sight to see the both of them this way with large bushy tails. LOL.

Thank you, Sparky, for hosting this Scary Event!  :)

Happy Tocktober with Cosmo and Ling

It's Toctober which means it's time to show off our Tocks!

Mommy has a lot of photos featuring our tocks (that's because we're always showing her the bum of disrespect for invading our privacy with that awful flashy box) but since this is a family friendly blog, we decided to pick our more decent pictures. MOL!

Cosmo : My kinked tail comes in handy when Mommy takes such embarrassing photos of me!
Ling : My tocks in action!
HAPPY TOCTOBER, EFFURYONE!

Cosmo : I feel kinda bloated all of a sudden
Ling : ha.ha.ha. Bravo, Mommy. That's *so* mature. Now fix my ears!
Today's TCC event is hosted by Kizzie and it's called Fisheye Faces!

Mommy had fun fisheye-ing us but all we want to say is, Why, Kizzie, WHY?

Embarrassing Photos - Cosmo & Ling

Cosmo : How much more embarrassing can it get? In case you were wondering, that little brat looking up my, uh, behind is Tutu
Ling : Let me get this clear...I am NOT afraid of a teeny tiny kitty. I was shouting with joy at the prospect of a little kitty on my back...yeah, *right*
The ginger kitten is Merlene when she was being fostered by me in late 2011

What's In A Name : Cosmo and Ling

Once Mommy knew we were staying for good, she had the task of naming us. It took her WEEKS because she wanted to get to know our personalities first. Eventually, after countless hours spent surfing the internet for names and their definitions and also watching us, she finally knew what our names were.
Cosmo
For some reason, the name COSMO seem to scream out to Mommy everytime she looked at me. She couldn't find a definition of Cosmo but it sounded fun and goofy, just like me...hey! I'm not goofy! I have so many variants to my name and oh, so embarrassing! Mo-Be, Mo-Me, Mo-Mo, Mo-Ming...you get the idea.

One day, while Mommy was chatting with her cousin about how much was spent when I was hospitalized twice for blockage, her cousin remarked "what do you expect when you named him Cost-More"?  Apparently this was supposed to be funny. *rolls eyes*

Ling
I was almost named Socks for obvious reasons but Mommy said I reminded her of Ling from Ally McBeal and when she looked up the definition of Ling, it was all me! Petite, demure *cough cough* and elegant. Mommy and Daddy liked to hide and yell "BOO!" as I walked by, which made me yell at them. Apparently, they found this fun and so I collected my other name...Ah Boo....

Thank you, Oui Oui for hosting this event!  :) Sorry we are late for the event, but Mommy was a little unwell (she's okay now!).

Cosmo's tummy is filled with *LOVE*

Remembering The Way We Were - Cosmo and Ling

The weather was extremely hot on that fateful day of August 2, 2008. Mommy and Whisky were taking their evening stroll and decided on that day to walk another round around the field behind the house...and that was when she heard a distinct mew. They stopped and listened. And heard it again. Tiny baby mews.They peered into the drain and found Cosmo mewing pathetically and Ling was just sitting there, silent.

Mommy noted that there was this huge plastic bag with a ripped out hole at its side next to us. She thinks someone must have dumped us in the drain and we managed to get out of the bag but not out of the drain. We were just around 5 weeks old then. Weak and dehydrated, Mommy picked the both of us up and took us home, then to the vet. We were covered in fleas, full of worms and Ling had an eye infection.

Here we are, a day after being scooped out from the drain
Well, we were supposed to have been put up for adoption because Daddy didn't want cats. But as soon as he laid eyes on us...well, Ling actually, his heart was stolen and that's how we ended up staying!

We refused to go near Mommy and Daddy for the first few weeks. We were terrified of them! But with lots of patience, love and time, we eventually got over our fear of them. However, we are still terrified of strangers.

Tiny Cosmo who grew and grew!
The little girl who stole her Daddy's heart
After Cosmo returned from being hospitalized for blockage, Ling hissed and hissed at him.  Finally, several days later,  love prevailed. I love this picture even if it's blurry
Cosmo has grown into a handsome mancat
No longer able to fit her entire body on my computer keyboard, Ling has to settle for just having her paw on it

Tuesday Tabby Tails With Cosmo and Ling

We are tabby cats with "kinked tails" which is something that is fairly common among the domestic cats in Malaysia. Don't worry, we weren't tortured in anyway. Just something about our genes that caused the "kink".

Our tails don't hurt although sometimes they do get "caught" in things like strings and cords while we play.  What do you think of our tails?

Cosmo : Mommy says my tail looks like a question mark from the front
Ling : I carry my tail proudly, even if it's just 4 inches long and bunches up at the top

Cosmo and Ling's Bath Day

We are Cosmo and Ling, biological furblings from The Furries of Whisppy and this is our first post as members of the Tabby Cat Club! We were told that for our first assignment, we were to show you how we took our baths so here goes!

Ling : Need to keep my toesies nice and clean and white
Cosmo : Sluuurrrppp!
And for those hard to reach places, there's always Ling!
