Let me elaborate a little on that last point - "themselves"
Cosmo scares easily, sometimes from something as silly as him jumping down and making a slightly different sound when he lands. Then he tries frantically to run from it but in his panic, loses traction (we don't have carpets) and the scratchy sound he makes, causes him to panic even more, which then causes Ling to get all worried who will start running as well. It's really quite a sight to see the both of them this way with large bushy tails. LOL.

We agree, little children can be very scary and we have been known to scare ourselves sometimes.

We're with you on the children, will add our psycho next door neighbours from hell, visitors, the doorbell or a knock, definitely being in the PTU, the taxi ride, the vet.
And Derry is scared of any sudden movement or loud noise, or of something being carried in our human's arms--like laundry, pillows, a jug of water, a mat to be shaken out, and on and on.
All of those scare us too!!!

Oooo, we'd be scared of all those too. And the vacuum cleaner too! Well, maybe not Tessa a.k.a. Danger Cat. She's not scared of anything.

We all here understand! We (except Simba) hate when anyone knocks on the door, let alone comes in the house. We are scared of the other things too. It was fun to see you here!

The world is a scary place sweet ones. Oh so much to make us afraid. Hope you have good hiding places when you are scared to go to so you will feel safe.
All of those scare us, too, especially those alarming children. And, of course, the vacuum cleaner. Actually, everything scares Ashton, including the male human who lives here.
Lucy is scared of everyone except the window cleaner - no idea why as he has a large dog and dogs must be almost at the top (if not are top) of her list!
