Sweet Socks is needing your purrs. His mom has reported that he isn't eating again and now waiting to see a specialist. Please keep him in your thoughts and purrs.
UPDATE August 22: Socks is home!!!! " . . . t
UPADTE August 21: Good news! ". . . some of the test results back and the good news is there is no sign of cancer at least not yet. The Feline Leukemia bone marrow test is still pending. Also the PCV has gone up to 22% (Great news) and socks is eating. They think the thyroid medicine may be causing his immune system to go haywire, but they haven't ruled out tick borne diseases or another sort of pathogen. At the moment they have taken him off his thyroid medication and he is receiving antibiotics and steroids."
UPDATE: From Sock's mom: "Apparently something is attacking Sock's red blood cells and the bone marrow is sending out infant blood cells. The doctor said they are seeing a lot of cells with anucleus still attached. His spleen was also enlarge so they are going to get a sample of that too. They are also doing a panel for tick borne diseases. (He was bit by a tick back in March). He is going to get a blood transfusion after the bone marrow biopsy. Fingers crossed he does well and can come home tomorrow afternoon. Is is currently at a specialty vet in Louisiana about l l/1 hour drive from where he lives.
