We're so happy that we had something very exciting and festive to post about as part of the PAWS Post-a-thon! We're happy to support kitties in need everywhere and PAWS is just, well, pawesome!
So Saturday was a very special event here on the farm... Today was our first annual, inaugural, (and necessary) Red Trillium Farm CATNIP HARVEST FESTIVAL !!!!
We have planted about 36 beautiful catnip plants and have 10 - 15 "wild, homegrown" catnip plants on the farm, along with other herbs.
So pretty! Mom's bees really like the pretty flowers... hmmmm... I wonder if it makes them roll around and drool like Harry does....?????
Our dad know how to pick all the best parts!
* come Mr. Catnip Man, carry me some catnip... daylight come and me wanna go ho-ome....*
Baskets of nippy goodness...
Mom said this is a Queen size portion... fit for a queen like me, says Willow...
All cleaned up and loaded in the dryer. Mom said the smell was heavenly, but would probably drive us crazy (except for Tipp, who is in the 1/3 who doesn't care about catnip... but then again, he doesn't care about stinky goodness either... go figure)
We all got to help with quality control and we're flat on our backs with 4 paws way up in the air over this first picking! We can't wait to tell you more about what mom and dad are going to do with all this nip, but don't worry, we PROMISE we will only use it responsibly! But I think there may be a big bash coming in the future!
