Opus & Roscoe

Roscoe & Opus when they were kitties

Today I want to have a special post for my angel nephews, Opus and Roscoe. These two were the best of buddies and wherever you found one you would find the other. The brothers and came into our family on Christmas in 1995. What a happy and unexpected surprise!!!

We always called Opus, Mr. Snuggle Pants. He could never ever get enough snuggle time in. Roscoe was called Funny Face. He was our funny one that was always finding things to play with only would snuggle when it was his idea. These two kitties changed our lives and who were by being in our family.
Opus & Roscoe~the best of buddies

The boys, which they were often called, were world wide travelers as they moved from the midwest and traveled all the way to Italy, they even understood Italian. They spent many laze afternoons on the patio watching folks go by their house.

Unfortunately our dear sweet Roscoe left for the bridge suddenly in the fall of 2008 while living in Italy. He was so missed and still is. When he went to the bridge Opus was very lonely for him and would walk around the house and meow our to him. It just broke our hearts that Opus so missed his brother and his mommie found a sister, Olive. Olive too came from the midwest and traveled all the way to Italy to be with her new family.

Opus was so happy to have a new sister but it took her a little bit of time to get used to a big bro. They turned out to be the best of friends too. They also were snuggled buddies. Opus and Olive returned to the states and our family was so happy to have them close to us so we could visit.

Our little man, Opus, returned home to us along with his sister. We were able to give him the love and care that he needed before he left for the bridge. He left us a year ago in December. Our hearts were broken when he left as it was when Roscoe left. We miss him and his brother so much. They have taken a part of our heart with them, it will always belong to them.

We miss you each day and talk about you often. Love you bunches Mr. Snuggle Pants and Funny Face.

The Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies
that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigour; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,
just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.

The family missed you both. You two were such a delight and loved by all of us. I am glad that I got to really meet Opus, though at first I was afraid of him. We did become close during your short stay at my place. I want you to know that Olive is still missing you but she is doing well. She is being spoiled by the mom, as she should be. Miss you each day and still love you both very much. I know you two are now together once again and being snuggle buddies. Some day you will greet me when I go to the bridge and forever we will be together. Until then we have our memories.

We remember Opus & Roscoe so well. We cried buckets of tears over them. But we also had some fun adventures with them while before they left.

Thanks Gracie. This is a wonderful remembrance. The whole idea was very nice and we hope it will be an annual affair.
