TDay Dinner

Well mum stayed home cuz of her broked ankle, which mean I scored some good eats. Mum bought a pre-roasted duck leg and thigh. Two of them in the package, means another meal in a few days. Plus stuffing, mashed taters and gravy.
She gave me some of the duck and it was nommy, all nice and juicy. Just the meat, no skin.
Cheesecake for dessert and I got to lick a bit of the cheesecake. Yum.
Hope you all had a good day with your families and got good eats.

Another TCC Angel

The Tabby Cat Club is one big family - and when we lose one of our own, we are sad even while we know our friend is in a wonderful and magical place we call the Rainbow Bridge.   No more pain, no more health problems, no more struggling to stay - just sweet PEACE.

Our friends at  15andMeowing had to say goodbye to KaTwo this past weekend and we hope that you can find time to visit their blog at the link above and leave a comforting message for Mom Ellen and Dad David on their loss.   KaTwo had a lot of serious health problems but we like to think of her FLYING FREE..................Goodbye sweet KaTwo...........

Ducky Giving Thanks.

I am thankful for my life with mum. I loves living with her and being with her. I like be by her and keeping her company.
Right now I am thankful she is getting better after breaking her ankle. Glad it wasn't any worse where she would have been in the stabby place and all.

Thankful for all her furiends who are making sure she is OK these days, helping her out and such.

Thankful

It goes without saying that I am most thankful for the day I found my forever family way back in July 2009. Finding my folks and adopting them gives me so many blessings but without them none of these blessings would be mine.

First picture of my new dad and me

Picture of mom and me when I knew for sure she wanted me to adopt dad and her.

I love them soooooooooo much plus my human brother, sister, and the grands.

Thankful by Noelle and Raz

We are two lucky Tabbies.  We were both adopted!  Noelle was lucky that a nice lady rescued her and her siblings from the outdoors,  I am lucky that Space Coast Feline Network rescued me from a trailer park in south Florida.  We have a great home, a fursib that we get along with, plenty of toys, treats, good noms and a loving Mom!  Yup....we're super lucky Tabbies!!

Thankful

What Am I Thankful For?

That's easy............the long answer would be a very long list of things that I'm blessed with since I was adopted by my Mom and Dad three years ago........the SHORT answer is:

I'm so THANKFUL to have my Mom and Dad............

'Tis the season to be thankful.......!

Day of the Deat - Cat Version!

I maintained my normal routine yesterday. No stress, no costumes. Yeah a few kids showed up for candy in spite of the 5 inches of snow we had! Yeah mother nature sent a trick. SNOW!

Halloween Aftermath

Halloween Aftermath

Oh how I partied, dressed up, ate candy . . . boy do I need to rest up today.
Hope you all had a very Happy Halloween.

Post-Halloween Recovery

We Had A Wild Halloween!

Not only did we have kids dressed up in all sorts of super costumes knocking on our door for treats last night but we also had HUGE storms come through - tornado warnings - and LOTS of heavy rain.     The kids came out extra early which was good so they could get their treats then be at home when the storms came.

We didn't have that many kids either - maybe 10 - those who did come by got EXTRA treats because we figured why not let them have as many treats we they wanted - we thought we'd have lots of leftovers and we did!

The wind howled, the rain came down in buckets but fortunately we did NOT get a tornado here in our area.    It's quiet this morning but I'm going to spend the day RECOVERING in my usual belly-up position.    It was exhausting guarding my front door and keeping my Mom and Dad safe.................I'm going to just TAKE IT EASY today!

I thought I'd let you see my style of "resting"......Mom says it looks more like a blockade in the upstairs hallway.    ENJOY YOUR HALLOWEEN PLUS ONE day!

Gracie and Mom July 2009

It is an interesting story about the day I picked out my mom and dad. Yes, I picked them out. I must say I had a lot of work to do when I decided that they were the ones.

It was way back on the 7th of July 2009, when I was wandering around the countryside.  I heard a lot of laughter and talking, and smelled the aroma of good food. I immediately headed in the direction of all of the commotion and suddenly came upon what looked like a family picnic. This was a great find indeed. I immediately made my presence known and a few of the folks noticed me and “made up” to me really fast, but I found that the mom there wouldn't have anything to do with me. You see, I have since learned that she had her heart broken many times by outside cats. She would offer them food, water, play, anything that an outside kitty would want. But several of her cats, Sassy, Punkie, and Guy, just left and didn't come back. I didn't know at that time but she told the dad that she didn't want to get attached to anymore outside cats because of the sadness that she felt that they would wander off and leave again. I'm glad I didn't know all of this because I might have decided not to even give them a try.

I decided that I liked this family and that I would hang out and try to mooch some food off of them. The mom wouldn't pay me any attention but I didn't care because there were plenty of other folks there who did. After the dad noticed me he started petting me, then he would kind of play with me, and the best yet was that, before I knew it, he brought out some food and water just for me. Well, the mom wasn't happy. She said that now that the cat was fed, it WAS HER CAT! My ears perked up when I heard that and I tried really hard not to smile.  When she questioned why food was brought out for me, which I kind of thought was really rude, he explained that I was starving and pointed out that my little ribs were sticking out through my skin and fur. She noticed he was right but still wasn't sold on the idea of me hanging around. She didn't want to get attached to me. I was hoping that it was already too late for her and that she was hooked on keeping me around.

It took me several days to really know that I was a shoo in and they were going to let me stay. The mom did have some rules, which included a visit to the vet, surgery so I wouldn't bring any more little kittens around once I grew up, shots to be given, and a chip put in so if I ever got lost they would have a chance of finding me again. Yes, life was good but guess what? It got better.

After my surgery, on October 15, at the vet's office they told the mom that I couldn’t go outside for ten days. When I heard them say that I tried to keep the smile off of my face. This was the “in” that I needed.   During the day I had the run of the house and at night was put in a special place so I wouldn't get into trouble. Well one thing led to another and before they even realized what was happening I was sleeping in their bed at night with them. As I mentioned before they never saw it coming. I guess you could say I have two Gotcha Days! The one when I got them and the second one when it was official and they got me . . . I would be their inside kitty.

After I had spent all this time inside, the mom didn't ever want me to go outside again.  Many tears were coming out of her when she would think about me being outside. Also being inside gave me plenty of time to “work” the dad and we now have a special relationship!  I have him wrapped around my cute little paws. I would like to think that the dad fell head over heels for me, but maybe he just got tired of having the mom crying about me having to go back outside. Anyway, whatever his reason was, he gave the go ahead and I officially became their inside kitty!

The rest as they say is history! I don't miss being outside at all and when the doors are open I don't try to run outside. I was so young I have forgotten about the outside and am happy to watch the outside from the inside.

I think I came along when the folks needed someone to heal their hearts from being sad about the kitties they had known but had gone missing. They still miss them but I like to think that I am filling the little empty place they feel with happiness. You never forget the ones you loved when they leave you. You always remember them and go on.

Who wants to be next month’s Featured Cat?    Let Gracie know if you’re interested in being the December Feature OR another month in the new year.   She will put you in a special banner at the TCC for that month and YOU will get a chance to tell your own story!
What’s Coming Next Month?
I know one thing that’s coming next month – SANTA CLAUS!   Yes of course there will be a party here at the TCC and we’ll be sure and keep you informed about that.    The festive season means making lists for Santa, having family and friends over to share YOUR house, holiday decorations that are fun to pull down (!) and presents of course for the fabulously adorable family kitty cats.   Not everyone celebrates Christmas of course but one thing we can ALL agree on is that the very best present EVER would be PEACE ON EARTH and GOODWILL TOWARD ALL !    “What the world needs now is love – sweet love – no, not just for some, but for everyone”…..
Miscellaneous Stuff
When you post your photos at the Club, you can use SMALL or MEDIUM, or LARGE photo settings on size but please don’t use EXTRA LARGE because your photos won’t fit in the borders of the page!     Thanks…………….
Until next month, enjoy every day and live every moment being happy you have a forever home.
