My Gotcha Day Story - Moosey

Hi everybuddy!  It's me, Moosey!

Mommy and Daddy first met me while they were volunteering at PAWS.  I have to tell you ... I was very lucky to end up there.  PAWS rescued me, and a whole bunch of other cats, from a shelter where animals did not get unlimited time to find a forever home.  We all ended up there after we were discovered in a hoarding situation.  Oh, and guess what else?  We all had ringworm when we first got to PAWS, so we had to undergo regular sulfur dips (yuck!) until we were ringworm-free.  It was SO not nice!  But Mommy and Daddy say that through it all, my sweet, playful and easygoing nature never wavered.  And they fell in love with me.  And I fell in love with them, too. I have lived here with them for almost five years now.  :)

So that's how I gotcha'd my forever family.  Pretty neat, huh?

Fanks to Oui Oui for hosting this fun event!

Hugs and headbonks!

What's in a Name?

Today's special event is What's in a Name and it's hosted by our pal Oui Oui.

When Mom got me from the rescue they just called me Buff Kitten.  As soon as I came home with her, Mom went to work to figure out what my "real" name was.  Her other kitties had names like Khartoum, Kashmir and Baschert and the kitten who went ORB just before she got me was named Tabriz.

Out came the New Age Baby Book...

After looking at all the names and seeing my response, she found the purrfect name - Tamir!  It is a Hebrew name and it means Tall and stately like a Palm tree.  Who knew we would live in Florida one day which would make it even more purrfect?

Don't I look tall and stately in my official Cat Show photo taken by the great Chanan?  I sure hope Gracie is impressed!!

You know what's even better about this post?  Mom found my adoption papers and now I know my Gotcha Day!!!  It's June 7!  Too bad she missed it but we're going to celebrate it on our blog today anyway!!
