Pet Memorial Day

The second Sunday in September every year is National Pet Memorial Day.......honoring those pets who have gone to the Bridge and are keeping watch over the rest of us here.  

This is our way of saying that we miss you, think of you every day, and will always love you.

Wow - the joint is jumpin' and everyone is rocking to the tunes and having a ball.  Sooner or later though, everyone is ready to call it a night - or at least head over to the "local hot spot" the Malt Shop to talk about how much fun the Sock Hop was (and get something to eat).

Why not have a shake, malted, root beer float or even a burger or pizza?   It's a night that we want to go on and on and on.

Sock Hops were big back in the dinosaur age when my Mom was a teenager and when she heard we were doing a Sock Hop here at the TCC she helped me figure out some dance moves to practice before I came to the Hop tonight........I think I'm READY!

Hey all we are heading on in to the Sock Hop here at the Tabby Cat Club.  Look at this entrance! They are all ready for us to get to rockin'!

Ralphie and I are going to play it a little cool. We aren't very good at dancing, so we are just going to hang out here in the gym. I think I see Timmy and Miss Fitz cutting a rug over there!

                          

We had a great time with everyone at the sock hop, going to grab a bite to eat here at the diner before we head on home. I need to order some more food, somecat seems to have eaten all the french fries!

The Tabby Cat Club is turning back the clock again for a 50's style Sock Hop on Tuesday, September 9th hosted by Sammy!  Put on those bobby socks and poodle skirts, slick back that hair, and be ready to burn up the school gymnasium dance floor as we rock around the clock.

TCC Riverboat Adventure~Day 2

Adventure In The Swamp!

Good Morning Travelers!   Time to have breakfast and pack up - we're arriving in New Orleans this morning and meeting the Swamp Runner transport that will take us deep into the bayou to the Swamp Lodge where we'll spend the night.........



After you have your fill, please return to your cabin, get your luggage, and meet on deck where your hosts, Captain Raz, Gracie, and Sammy will make sure you get safely off the boat and down to the bus that awaits to take us to the Swamp.

Our first adventure is a ride in the swamp.....all aboard.... Captains Raz and Sammy are your tour guides and Gracie will help you board the swamp runner.

Keep your tails and toes on the boat or you'll be this guy's lunch.

Please don't crowd one side of the boat..

Here we are at the Swamp Lodge.........make sure you get your luggage off the bus.  The Lodge looks small, but just wait until you see inside!

Be sure to stop down in the lodge lobby to pick up your sack lunch. Everyone should have one, be sure to take it with you when you leave.

We have air boats down at the edge of the swamp if you would like one. Keep an eye out for all of the wonderful critters that live in the swamp.

Grab a canoe and go for a ride around the swamp to see the wildlife - if you feel eyes watching you, it's probably the creatures that live in the swamp.....making sure you keep your distance!  Be careful out there.......

When you're finished with dinner come back up to the Lodge.............

 

We're going to watch a move in the Lodge Movie Room - complete with popcorn.....a great way to wind down the trip before getting a good night's sleep.  Breakfast in the Lodge tomorrow morning before we leave!   Hopefully the movie selection won't be too scary for you to get your rest..........

Before you know it - it's morning!  Time to pack up and hike a short distance through the swamp to a clearing where transport awaits..........................
