Baby Love with Sonora & Chili

Sonora Pepper & Chili Pepper joined the Purrchance To Dream family in 2013.  One day, while Not The Mama was volunteering with The Way Home at Petco, someone walked into the store with a shoe box, handed it to the cashier and walked out.  Inside were three tiny kittens.  Not The Mama agreed to take on the kittens as bottle babies fosters, and nursed them into strong playful kitties.  You can see Sonora and Chili's third sibling, their grey sister Tamale, above in the picture.  Tamale was adopted but Sonora had won over Not The Mama after a health scare when she got dehydrated, and he knew he had to adopt her.  

At adoption days at Petco, Chili kept getting overlooked - she is a lovely tabby, but people wanted fluffy kittens or siamese-looking kittens or whatever.  Finally, one day Chili came up to Not The Mama on the couch, put her paws on his chest and looked him in the eye.  That was it.  We're very happy that Tamale got adopted into another home, but we cannot imagine our lives now without Sonora and Chili in them.

Happy Gotcha & PAWS from Purrchance To Dream

Our daddies have been working hard helping the rescue group they volunteer with, The Way Home, this summer.  We have four foster kitties in our house right now - we had five, but Mittens got adopted - and they go every Saturday to help with adoptions at Petco.
But we wanted to make sure we wished Oui Oui a very special happy Gotcha Day, and to put up a post here for PAWS.  We think this is a pawsome event and are so proud to be a part of the TCC community!

Chili's Tootsies

Hello all, it's been a while since we posted here.  Sonora and I have been busy snoopervising our Not The Mama during his first year as a high school teacher.
He says it's more stressful than he imagined, but he is so thankful to have a job.  Today he's relaxing on the couch with us for a while.  He says he's still thinking about vocabulary for The Scarlet Letter and we says STOP IT and think about US!
Here is me being all cute on the couch with him, showing off my black jellybean tootsies to honor Dinnermintz's birthday.  Pawty on, Dinnermintz!
We hope efurry one has a relaximicating weekend full of tootsies and purrs!

Tabby Cat Clubbers Sonora and Chili from Purrchance To Dream are all decked-out for Halloween fun!  Sonora is bewitchingly cute, isn't she?

Hello, Sonora & Chili Pepper

 Hello! We're Sonora and Chili from Purrchance To Dream.  We're The Peppers!  We are #99 and #100 in the Tabby Cat Club First One Hundred, and we're very honored to hold those positions!
We would have posted sooner but our NTM (Not The Mama) from Purrchance To Dream and The Cat Blogosphere (he's the one who does the daily Linkies posts and Birthdays and Gotcha Days at the CB) has been busy the past two weeks interviewing.  See, he just got his Florida Department Of Education teaching certification, and he's now eligible to be a teacher.  He's certified to teach English for grades 6 to 12.  And we'd like to announce it here officially: he has a job offer!  He goes this week for new hire paperwork, fingerprinting, and the pee in the cup thingy, and once all that passes, he can start teaching!
It's a great high school in Orlando, Florida - one of the biggest, best high schools in the country!  There are over three thousand students there!  That's like more than all of our tabby stripes, combined!
So, here's the official announcement: he's going to be an English teacher for sophomores, juniors, and seniors at West Orange High School.  We're so proud of him!

But hey, enough about him - this is about US being new members of the Tabby Cat Club.  For those of you who don't know our story, our NTM was our foster-parent who raised us from being abandoned bottle babies.  Sonora almost died when she was really tiny, and by the time NTM nursed her back to health, he knew he could never let her go.  It took Chili a bit longer to convince him that she was here to stay, but soon he officially adopted both of us and we are part of the Purrchance To Dream Forever Family.  We're so happy to not only have a home, but to be members of The Tabby Cat Club!
