Freezing on Friday with Fuzzy Tales

Brrrrr! Thanks to Gracie for hosting this chilly event!

Like everyone else, we're freezing here in Ontario, Canada, though that's the norm for most of Canada, in the winter.

This is what it looked like on January 1st:
And this is what it looked like on January 4th:

So of course we're responding in the only logical fashion: A heating pad for Nicki and a comfy cushion for Derry...and lots of napping!

Do NOT disturb us till Spring!

Nicki and Derry

SUNday with Fuzzy Tales

Thanks to Gracie, Raz and Sammy for hosting today's event!

With the exception of SUNday December 7th, we've had very little sun lately! However, one of us (Derry) did take full advantage of that sunshine.
Sunshine or no, the following snapshots show how we best like to spend our Sundays (or any other day).
Derry
Derry hanging out at the top of the new cat tree.
Nicki on his favourite stool.

And sometimes we actually wake up for a bit of
mutual grooming and/or a tussle. :-)
However you like to spend your SUNdays, we hope you have fun!

A very happy Solstice to all. Here in the northern hemisphere it will mean the slow increase of daylight hours again, which definitely is something to celebrate!

Fun Photos with Fuzzy Tales

Hey, we're actually doing a TCC post! Our first one in a gazillion months! Thanks to Gracie for hosting this "fun" event (no pun intended).

Fun is a new cat tree! Our human bought it for us a few weeks ago, a really good sale at PetSmart. So Christmas came early for us!

(With apologies to those who've seen the snapshots on our own blog already.)

Nicki at the top, being the monkey he is.
Derry in the middle, Nicki on the bottom platform.
A new cat tree and a feathered stick!
Doesn't get much more fun than that.  :-)
 Derry
Also fun is some silvervine (think catnip on steroids) sprinkled on an old hand towel. Nicki went a little crazypants here.  :-)
We're looking forward to seeing everyone else's fun photos. Thanks again to Gracie for hosting this, it's the perfect event (read easy for the human to do).

Fuzzy Tales: You Must Have Been a Beautiful Baby

Hi kitties!

We wanted to join in with this Baby Love event, hosted by Sammy, even though we both were six months old when we were adopted. Our human says we must have been beautiful babies, because we still were pretty cute at 6 months.  :-)

We know some/many of you already have seen the pics of our first day in our home, so you'll have endure seeing them again. LOL.

Nicki, April 12, 2007
He was pretty cute, especially with
those big ears and bratty expression.

Derry on December 21, 2007
Exhausted from his big adventure of adoption
and meeting Nicki (and angel Annie too).
Thanks to Sammy for hosting this event, it's always fun to dig out the old photos and remember when we were much smaller.

Fuzzy Tales Joins the Post-A-Thon!

Hi kitties!

In honour of Oui Oui's Gotcha Day, we're participating in the Post-A-Thon to benefit PAWS' "Catification Project." (What a fantastic and generous idea!)

Everyone knows our best game is vigorous tussling, which we do pretty much every day and often multiple times a day.

We hope the ladycats are impressed with our
mancatly moves, with our "muscular" prowess.

But what we love the most is spending as much time as possible in our little enclosed garden.

It's true we take it for granted, because we've always had it, but we also know not every kitty is able to get outside safely. It makes our human very happy to see us enjoying the space during our short summers!

Derry, obviously exhausted from all the tussling.
 Derry again, just hanging out.
Hey, lady! The grass needs to be cut!
 Nicki baking in the sun.
Nicki, keeping a firm paw on Mr. Stick to make sure he stays put!
And both of us inspecting one of the hostas --
looks like it's getting too much sun, lady.
You can see how much work it is, to manage even a tiny garden, but we say it's worth it. :-)

Thanks for letting us show you how we spend our summers, and we're wishing Oui Oui not only the happiest Gotcha Day ever, but also a very successful post-a-thon!

Tuesday Tummies with Fuzzy Tales

Hi everyone! Yes, we're still around, even though it's been forever since we've participated. But this one was easy enough to do, even for our lazy slack busy human.  :-P

Nicki showing off his tummy earlier this month
Nicki rolling on the human's bed
Derry enjoying our little garden, now that the snow is gone.
Derry enjoying a roll in our little garden
Yes, we both like tummy rubs, especially Derry.

Thanks to Gracie for hosting today's tummy event!

Happy (early) holidays from Fuzzy Tales!

We know it's a bit early, as those of you in the U.S. have just finished Thanksgiving, but we wanted to wish you a joyous holiday season before everyone gets too caught up in the frenzy.

(Click for full size)

We know we're not around much, but once in a while we do a post on our own blog. We also have a different holiday card for all on our site, here:

Wishing you good health, happiness, love and laughter, this season and always.  :-)

Fuzzy Tales: We're Actually Participating with 'Tocks!

Hi everyone!

We know it's been soooo long since we've participated in anything that most of you will have forgotten we're even members. Blame the human, who isn't even doing our own blog at this time.

However, we do have a couple of 'tock snapshots, so actually can participate in this one.

Nicki, with a strategically placed autumn leaf,
in keeping with the season.
And Derry, with a Halloween pumpkin over certain (non-existent) boy bits, in keeping with the upcoming Halloween festivities!
Happy 'Tock-Tober, everyone, and a very happy birthday to Derby too, whom we thank for hosting this fun (and easy--lol) event.

Please join us on our blog for a casual get-together, with lots of food and treats, and of course free run of the house and more importantly, the enclosed garden!

Fuzzy Tales: Our "Baby" Pictures

Hi everyone, and thanks to Raz for hosting this event!

We don't actually have "baby" photos, because we both were adopted (at different times) when we were six months old.

So we have a couple of collages of snapshots taken in the first few days we came to our forever home. You can see them better if you enlarge the pics.

Nicki: April 12, 2007 and several days afterward.
Derry, December 21, 2007 and several days afterward.
The human would have loved to have kitten pics of us, she says we would have been so adorable and precious. Hmmm, aren't we that now?

Fuzzy Tales: Here's Looking at You

Thanks to Gracie and Raz for hosting the "Here's Looking At You" event, to tie in with the new TCC blog makeover!

We're not sure you can bear to look at our tabby handsomeness, it might be too much for your humans (hey, why are you laughing?!), but here you go:

Nicki: "Hey, where are my ears?!?"
Derry: "No, lady, I'm not going to look at the camera!"

This was an easy event for the human to do--apparently "easy" is the only kind of event she can manage. LOL.

Happy Friday, and happy long weekend (Victoria Day weekend) to any other Canadian kitties in the club!

Nicki and Derry

Happy Cinco de Mayo from Fuzzy Tales!

Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone! We're here to join in the pawsome party, so kindly hosted by Tommie. Ignore how bad the human is at PhotoShopping; her heart was in the right place, but it's definitely not her talent. After a few meowgaritas, no one will notice, anyway. :-)

Remember to party responsibly and either plan to stay the night here at the TCC, or arrange for a safe way home!

Now let's celebrate!

Fuzzy Tales: What's in a name?

It's been so long since we've participated, probably none of you remembers us. LOL. Blame our so-called servant for that!

Anyway, since this didn't require much creative or intellectual power, she thought she could muster a post for us.

Nicki:
There wasn't any question as to my name. The human knew she would adopt a Nicki at some point, and when she saw me at the pet store adoption centre, she just looked at me and thought, "There's Nicki." I was sitting at the front of the large floor to ceiling cage, and wasn't feeling very well, had an eye infection. So I was quiet when she saw me. (Heh heh, that's how I suckered her!) My shelter names was Gee Whiz, and I all I can say to that is, Uh, gee....

So "Nicki" it was, right from the first!

Derry:
My shelter name was Rock and I had a sister named Roll, as well as a brother who's shelter name I no longer remember. When the human was adopting me, she had a bit of a struggle before my name revealed itself to her. "Derry" is an Irish name, of course, which is odd because she's actually not fond of things Irish. She figures it's related to a past life, her aversion. As for me, I'm not going to reveal how "Derry" occurred to her!

So that's it, nothing terribly interesting at all about how we got our names.  :-)

Happy 1st Blogoversary to the TCC!

Huge thanks to Gracie and her mom (and everyone else too!), who have worked so hard for the last year to not only start this club, but make it the success that it is! Well done!
