We love NOMS day and we love our NOMS pals. Today is NOMS Day (Not of My Species)

NOMS (Not Of My Species) Day was originally started by The Cat Realm  in 2007.  Here’s what they said:

The Cat Realm’s I Dare you All to make a Not of My Species (NOMS) Friend.

From The Cat Realm: “We declare August 5th to be NOMS Day, a new international public holiday! We hope you will celebrate with us! That day we are celebrating NOMS Day, a holiday to remember that all beings are equal, to remind ourselves to be tolerant towards everybody, to reach out across species, cultures, nationalities, religions, languages, beliefs and appearances and to come together and embrace our differences We have a few NOMS friends.”

This is my woofie brofur Angel Cubby.  As you can see, we were good pals...sometimes too good.  A ManCat needs his space!

Most of the time it was  fun to chillax with him.  He was a good brofur even if he is Not Of My Species!!

Celebrating NOMS day!

Today is NOMS day....Not Of My Species.

I have a lot of NOMS friends.

Of course my ManDog buddies Cubby and Clifford were pawsome NOMS pals....

and my best buddy in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD....is my Dad.  He's NOMS to me but I love him so very very much.

Nothing better than a NAP with Dad!!!

Happy NOMS Day from the PDX pride!

Happy NOMS day!  We love watching the NOMS who visit us here at the PDX pride, because there are so many different ones!  We have birdies, including huge geese, and snakes, and dragonflies as big as birdies.  We also have some other very interesting NOMS who are regulars.  Would you like to see them?

These are Freya's special friends.  She loves to try to "catch" them from the inside of the sliding glass door.  There's one problem with this system, though!

They stay outside!  There's one who loves to sit on our front door handle and catch bugs on the door.  Sometimes, a froggie comes inside, and then we get to play with it for a while until Mommy catches it and puts it back outside.  One time, one tried to hide from us under the couch, but hopped out covered in cat hair!

Our favorite NOMS and part of our family is R.K.  Her real name is Raccoon Kitty, and she's blind in one eye.  Her mama lived here when our family moved here, and raised her in the backyard at the same time that Tuxie was raising the three feral kittens.  Now, she and Tigress are still acquaintances, and R.K. has taught her babies and her grandchildren to respect the feral kitties.  She still thinks she's an outside kitty, though!

Here's R.K. with one of her three kits this year.  This was taken a couple weeks ago.  The kits now are learning to ask for food at the back door at night, with R.K.'s supervision.

Oui Oui's NOMS Day

NOMS Day (Not of Our Species Day) is a special day for us at TwinkletoeTails cause we have the bestest NOMS in our family!  We love showing our cousins off!

 Young Neville is the newest member.

He is about 6 months old and lives with big brother Kahn.

 Neville and Kahn love to eat!

When they hear The Girl, they come running!

Our other cousins are known as "The Carrots", cause the mom misunderstood The Girl when she was talking about the ferrets.

 We Carrots do the funniest things!

 Pepe Jack shows off his yoga skills.

 While Zena Marie shows her fashion sense.

 But over all we are SO cute!

And our tummies are as cute as any kittens!

And 5 times as long.

We think there should be a Carrot Tummy Day!
