Counting My Blessings

Thanks Dezi for hosting this wonderful and most special blog post where we take time out from our super busy lives to think about just how very blessed we are.

At my age (almost 15) I really do think a lot about how far I've come in my life - and how lucky I was all those years ago to be adopted by my parents from the shelter.

I was quite tiny and rather sick at first - it was winter and I'd been found abandoned by my cat family and huddled under an old house in the country.   The shelter had no details as to who had reported seeing me or whether any other cats were even around - but somehow I was brought by animal control to the shelter.   My Mom and Dad were at the shelter looking to adopt a kitty after they'd lost their cat Eddy to the Bridge some months before - and THERE I WAS!   Waiting for them!

I've lived a wonderful life with them.  I've never wanted for anything - I've been safe, warm, well fed, had regular vet checks, shots, but most of all I've never had a minute of life when I didn't feel LOVE.

I hope I'm able to stay with them for some more years - at my age you just never know - but if I had to fly away to the Bridge tomorrow, I'd never think that I'd wanted for ANYTHING in my life......I've always felt blessed.

I'm also very grateful for my "bigger family" in the blogging world.  Who knew when I started my blog in 2011 that I'd make SO MANY friends and have SO MUCH fun.   What a blessing it's been though to learn about all of you, sharing stories, remedies, sadness and happiness - just being HERE for each other - that's a huge blessing.

So, am I feeling BLESSED today?  Oh you betcha.......today and every single day.   Thanks to all of YOU for blessing me with your friendship.

Thanks Again To Dezi for Hosting Today!!

Love, Sammy
